Local-First Storage
By default, MoodOn is designed with a local-first architecture. Your journal entries, mood logs, sleep data, canvas drawings, and voice recordings are stored locally on your device using secure local storage databases (GetStorage and Sqflite). If you do not sign in to an account, your data remains stored strictly on your device.
Cloud Data Encryption & Security
When you sign in and enable cloud backup, your data is transmitted over encrypted channels (HTTPS / TLS) and stored securely in Google Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage. We implement strict database rules so that only you can access your personal records.
Local Privacy Controls
- PIN & Biometric Lock: You can enable a passcode or biometric lock in the app settings to restrict access to your journal.
- App Switcher Blur: When enabled, MoodOn blurs app preview screens in the recent apps / task manager view to protect your content from visual snooping.
8. Data Retention & Account Deletion (Right to Erasure)
Data Retention
- Local Data: Remains on your device until you manually delete specific entries, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
- Cloud Data: Stored in secure cloud servers for as long as your account is active.
How to Delete Your Account and Data
You have full control over your personal data and the right to delete your account and records at any time:

Open MoodOn*. Navigate to Settings -> Profile / Account*. Tap Delete Account*. * Confirm account deletion. Effect:* This action permanently deletes your account credentials, all stored Firestore database records, and all uploaded media files (photos, drawings, voice notes) from our cloud servers, as well as clearing local app storage.
- 2Cloud Backup Erasure:
In Settings, tap Delete All Backup Data* to purge cloud database backups without deleting your user account.
- 3Manual Request via Email:
